Field journal section (new blog) is currently being worked on. I removed the documentary video. Too many problems with consecutive false claims on YouTube. At this point in time I am putting the series on the back burner. There was too much time, effort and money involved to be going through that sorted nonsense. My primary focus is with field research. Not with film.
Every year, cow moose are illegally shot and killed for their calf fetuses. The cow is then left behind to rot. To some people, moose calf fetuses are considered a delicacy. This act wipes out entire generations of moose, and wrongfully lays the blame on predators, such as wolves. Mass amounts of deer are killed illegally too. Forcing predators, such as wolves, to seek alternative food sources. Causing problems with local ranchers and their herds. This is not just some random thing. It is a very serious problem in our region. It is believed that some of those individuals responsible may be hiding their illegal activities under the guise of truck loads of firewood. Their kills hidden in the center of a cradle of firewood in the back of their pickups. If you come across suspicious activities, do not confront the individuals. Make a note of the licence plate, color and type of vehicle, description of persons, time, location and direction last seen. Then report immediately to your nearest Conservation Officer. Please do your part and report any and all suspicious activity. The thoughtless acts of a few, sets off a chain reaction that negatively effects us all. Unfortunately, the wrong beast, mainly the wolf, gets the blame and suffers the consequences in the end.
